How does an online consultation work?
1. After you have researched information on your disease state and
treatment options, you enter our secure environment to select the
conditions and associated medications you would like routed to a
physician licensed to practice in your locale.
2. Complete the first part of the consult form. This includes credit
card, demographic, and shipping information. You will be provided with a
total purchase amount and be allowed to confirm your decision to move
forward after reviewing and agreeing to the Waiver of Liability.
At this point, our system will verify your credit card information for
authorization purposes only. You will only be charged if and when the
physician approves your request. If your credit card is accepted, you
will be prompted to move on to the next step. Sometimes, technical
difficulties with online verfication require us to manually authorize
your credit card. In these rare cases, your tranaction may be delayed.
You will be notified in the process if there is a potential issue.
3. Complete the second part of the consult form. This includes medical
history, family history, and specific questions concerning your
condition(s) and the medication(s) you are requesting.
4. Your physician will notify you via e-mail with the outcome of your
request, or may have further questions before making a decision. If the
doctor has additional questions for you, you will be emailed and asked
to log onto the secure server with your username and password so you may
communicate in confidence with your doctor. If you are approved, the
prescription will either be routed to our affiliated pharmacy to be filled
or called to the pharmacy of your choice, depending on which option you
chose.
5. If you choose the pharmacy option, you will receive notification via
e-mail from our affiliated pharmacy when your prescription is shipped.
This will include a tracking number to allow you to easily track your
order online.

Insurance Reimbursement and Reciepts
The fees you pay for our online physician services may be reimbursed by your health insurance plan. We can offer you some assistance in seeking reimbursement.
While we do not directly handle health insurance reimbursement for our patients, we have provided to our patients an online printable receipt. This receipt conforms to healthcare industry reimbursement guidelines and may be used to seek reimbursement from your:
- Healthcare insurance provider, or
- Medical Savings Account that you may have
through your employer.
Other than a printed receipt, we cannot offer any further assistance with your reimbursement claim or any assurance that VirtualMedicalGroup.com charges will be reimbursable.
At the end of your visit, we will give you instructions on how to print your receipt.
A Special Note About Pharmacy Reimbursement:
If you receive a prescription from your consultation, you may have it filled by our affiliate online pharmacy or we will call it in to your local pharmacy. Our pharmacy does not file directly with insurance plans, but will provide you with a receipt that you can file with your pharmacy benefits manager. Please note that not all medications are covered by health insurance and that reimbursement may not be for the full amount of the prescription.
