COMMON NAME: CELEXICOB
WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION USED FOR?
Celebrex� is used for arthritis to reduce inflammation and
ease mild to moderate pain.
WHO SHOULD NOT TAKE CELEBREX�?
- People who have experienced asthma, urticaria (rash), or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or
other NSAIDs (i.e. Motrin/ibuprofen, Naproxen/Naprosyn�, etc.).
- People who are allergic to certain sulfa drugs called sulfonamides.
- Celebrex� is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
- Celebrex� should not be taken by
patients in late pregnancy.
HOW DO I TAKE MY CELEBREX� ?
Celebrex� is taken once or twice a day, depending on dosage. If Celebrex� upsets your stomach, take it with
food or milk.
WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF CELEBREX?
The most common side effects of Celebrex� are indigestion, diarrhea and abdominal pain. In rare cases,
serious stomach problems, such as bleeding, can occur without warning. Patients should remain alert for any
signs and symptoms of stomach bleeding/ulcers. Signs of stomach ulcers include gnawing or burning stomach
pain, black or tarry stools, or vomiting.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Do not share this medication with anyone.
- Store this medication at room temperature and out of the reach of children. Protect from moisture. Keep container tightly closed. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
